Giving a soul to living spaces: our artistic intervention at the Saint Charles nursing home in Strasbourg
At Metamorphoze, we believe that living spaces must carry a soul, a strong identity that soothes, inspires and connects those who inhabit them.
Our latest project for the Saint Charles nursing home in Strasbourg fully embodies this vision. A project where wall decoration, fresco, artistic signage, interior greening and poetic landscaping have been combined around a theme full of life: the Alsatian landscapes.
We have imagined a wall trail where traditional half-timbered houses, quiet rivers such as the Ill, boats, shaded parks and friendly squares respond to each other, creating a reassuring and familiar atmosphere.
Each hand-painted mural was designed as a living tableau, allowing residents to intuitively navigate the spaces, while evoking happy memories.
Beyond the frescoes, we have developed artistic signage in perfect harmony with the chosen theme.
Each corridor, room or common area is identified by a unique visual element: a tree, a house, a bridge, a park.
We have also integrated real plant and floral elements, warming the atmosphere and reminiscent of living nature.
We have designed spaces for waiting, resting and conviviality in harmony with our artistic universe:
– Contemporary and ergonomic furniture
– Relaxation areas for reading and exchanging
– Warm family areas
– Smooth and safe traffic paths
Intervening in a nursing home is much more than an aesthetic project.
At the Saint Charles nursing home, this project was shared with the residents and teams from the very beginning, creating collective pride and transforming their environment into a lively and soothing place.
Through this project, we strongly affirm our conviction: a neat, artistic, meaningful place improves the quality of life, well-being and relationships with others.
Creating places you love is about giving others more than just beauty: it’s about giving you a home.
