An open secret? The Métamorphoze mural art workshop won the support of the Aural association and prepared digital watercolour frescoes.
Created in 1972 by Professor JAHN, Head of the Nephrology and Haemodialysis Department of the Strasbourg Regional University Hospital, AURAL is a non-profit association. It offers all treatment modalities for chronic kidney disease as well as home hospitalization. It is present throughout the Alsace region, with dialysis units in the cities of Strasbourg, Haguenau, Saverne, Colmar and Mulhouse. The Home Hospitalization activity has been carried out since May 2004, in Strasbourg, its local area, and the canton of Erstein.
In 1981 AURAL started Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis, a decisive activity for the development of the Association. The Alsace region is indeed at the forefront in the implementation of this extra-renal purification modality, by the proportion of patients treated at home who benefit from it. The first assisted self-dialysis units were set up in 1985, and in 1996 it was the medical units.
Automated Peritoneal Dialysis was created in 1994, and allows young patients to pursue a professional activity or studies, and for the elderly to leave hemodialysis centers. AURAL also provides assistance to the parents of sick children followed by the paediatric department of the Strasbourg University Hospital.
In 2001, AURAL obtained authorisations to educate patients on haemodialysis and authorised to create a Haemodialysis Centre on the Strasbourg Hautepierre site. In 2002, AURAL set up patient education in Peritoneal Dialysis. Thus, at the end of 2002, AURAL offered patients with chronic kidney failure, children or adults, the full range of technically possible treatments.
While waiting for the manufacture and installation, here are our artistic indiscretions.
The theme? Travel, escape in images and words.
Graphic design? An artistic decoration in the form of a landscape, walls of entrances, waiting, common rooms for dialysis, individual rooms, automatic doors, the entrance hall.
The color? From blue to fuschia.
The technique? A watercolor work originally transformed into vector graphics to bring a modernity and a unique contemporary look.
The power of words.
Words help each of us get better… Moreover, since antiquity, speech has been considered to have a curative action. There are different ways of using this word and the words we say, but the power to heal is manifest. At Métamorphoze, the words, the poetry, the quotes, the stories we tell on the walls… are marks of healing. Certainly.
On the program: Window displays, wall frescoes with nearly 55 linear meters developed.
Promised… In June, we will publish a few pictures of our intervention.
See you soon.
