This project was designed as a real sensory experience, where art becomes a tool for well-being, identification, appeasement and enhancement of places.
Through a series of hand-drawn, unique and line-drawn frescoes, we imagined a natural and floral journey, imbued with softness and poetry. A visual universe designed to accompany residents in their daily lives, reassure families, support the work of the teams and transform the establishment into a warm, legible and profoundly human place to live.
A nursing home designed as a place to live above all
The Les Signolles nursing home welcomes elderly people with rich life paths, sometimes weakened by age, loss of mobility or cognitive disorders. In this context, the built environment plays a fundamental role.
Corridors, common areas, waiting and circulation areas are not just functional areas: they directly influence the feeling, emotional safety and quality of life of residents.
The challenge of the project was twofold:
make the establishment more attractive and more readable, while creating a soothing, poetic and respectful setting for the people welcomed, particularly within the protected unit.
This is precisely the vocation of our artistic approach at Métamorphoze : to use wall art and signage as indirect care tools, in the service of well-being.

The common thread: a natural and floral journey
For Les Signolles, we have chosen a graphic universe inspired by nature and plants.
A sensitive journey through flowers, foliage, stylized landscapes, organic rhythms and soft lines.
This choice is not only aesthetic. It is based on widely recognized principles in gerontology:
Nature reassures, soothes, stimulates emotional memory and promotes orientation. Plant forms, when legible and not overloaded, are particularly suitable for the elderly, including those with cognitive impairments.
Each fresco evokes a walk, an imaginary garden, a season, a breath.
The line is deliberately fine, continuous and elegant, to avoid any visual aggressiveness. The compositions let the walls breathe and accompany the movements with gentleness.
Hand-drawn, unique and humane frescoes
All the wall decorations were made in the form of hand-drawn frescoes, directly on the walls of the establishment.
No standardized printing, no repetitive patterns: each wall is a unique work, designed for its location, its light and its use.
Line work allows:
- high visual readability,
- a graphic softness adapted to vulnerable audiences,
- timeless elegance,
- A strong identity without decorative overload.
The manual gesture brings an essential human presence to a place of care. The lines are never perfectly mechanical: they vibrate, breathe, tell.
It is this singularity that gives spaces a soul and creates an immediate attachment.
Artistic signage designed for location scouting and serenity
Beyond the frescoes, we have designed a complete and coherent signage, integrated into the floral universe.
The goal was to make it easy, quick and stress-free for everyone to find their way around, while maintaining a soft and elegant aesthetic.
The signage includes illustrated floor plans, directional wall signage, door markings, as well as window stickers on the glass doors, essential for safety and accessibility for people with reduced mobility.
Each piece of information is carefully prioritized. The contrasts are studied, the typographies are legible, the pictograms are clear.
But instead of a strictly technical language, we chose a sensitive graphic style, in coherence with the murals.
Thus, signage never breaks the atmosphere: it guides without rushing, informs without worrying.
Enhanced and soothing common areas
Particular attention was paid to the lounges, the restaurant, the reception area and the circulation areas.
They are places of meeting, exchange, sometimes waiting, where emotional feelings are decisive.
At the reception, the frescoes immediately create an atmosphere of calm and benevolence. They offer a reassuring first impression to families and visitors.
In the living rooms, wall decorations accompany times of rest, discussion and animation.
In the restaurant, the floral universe evokes pleasure, conviviality and the rhythm of the seasons.
Even the corridors, often perceived as neutral spaces, become real interior walks, encouraging wandering and reducing the anxiety related to travel.
Particular attention paid to the protected living unit
In the sheltered living unit, the graphic design has been even more refined and measured.
The frescoes are deliberately more refined, the contrasts controlled, the visual cues reinforced.
The floral illustrations here become real emotional beacons. They help to recognize a place, to situate oneself, to find a familiar path.
Signage plays an essential role, always integrated with discretion and respect.
Accessibility, standards and ARS requirements: full compliance
All of our intervention has been designed in full compliance with the law on accessibility, the PMR recommendations and the requirements of the ARS.
Regulatory heights, visual contrasts, legibility, safety of the glass surfaces, universal understanding: every point was integrated from the design phase.
But our approach goes beyond simple compliance.
We systematically seek to offer increased accessibility, designed for the real uses, the vulnerabilities and the daily needs of residents.
It is this global requirement, at once artistic, human and regulatory, that characterizes our work at Métamorphoze.

A more attractive establishment, for today and tomorrow
Thanks to these wall decorations and artistic signage, the EHPAD des Signolles now benefits:
- a strong and reassuring visual identity,
- a warmer and more readable living environment,
- enhanced common spaces,
- an environment conducive to the well-being of residents,
- a tool to attract families and professionals.
Mural art becomes a strategic lever here, in the service of the quality of life, the image of the establishment and respect for the people welcomed.
When art becomes care and support
With this project carried out for the EHPAD des Signolles, we wanted to demonstrate that wall art and signage can be much more than decorative.
They can soothe, reassure, guide, enhance and humanize places of care.
This natural and floral journey, drawn by hand, transforms the establishment into a space where you feel good, where you can easily find your way around, where each wall tells a gentle and respectful story.
A project faithful to the philosophy of Métamorphoze :
Putting art at the service of people, well-being and dignity, in all places of life.
