A giant manifesto in the form of a contemporary and historical fresco on the façade.

A monumental decoration to celebrate the history, freedom and values of the Mutuelle des Motards

The Mutuelle des Motards unveils an exceptional work of art on the façade of its headquarters in Pérols, near Montpellier. Imagined and created by the artist Franck Blériot and his team, this monumental fresco – one of the largest in France – offers a committed and contemporary reinterpretation of Delacroix's Liberty Leading the People , transposed into the world of motorcycles.

A tribute to a singular mutual insurance company

Created in 1983 by a solidarity movement from the French Federation of Angry Bikers, in reaction to the unfair rates of the insurers of the time, the Mutuelle des Motards has been carrying strong values for more than 40 years: freedom, solidarity, equality, responsibility.

This mural does not tell the story of a past struggle, but the story of a community that continues to defend a practice and a way of life. Faces, gestures, parts of engines, wheels, words and numbers form a symbolic language. Here, everything is significant: looks, postures, mechanics, references.

“It’s not a simple fresco, it’s a living memory. I wanted to tell a modern epic: that of a community that has chosen solidarity as its driving force. »
— Franck Blériot

An artistic gesture between art, history and collective

Inspired by large historical paintings, the work mixes text, image and architecture. It engages the eye as much as the reflection and offers the Mutuelle des Motards a strong, visible, assumed presence.

By inscribing the biker imagination in a universal iconography, she links past and present, art and commitment, individual and collective.

Interview with Patrick Jacquot, President and CEO of the Mutuelle des Motards

How did the idea for this fresco come about?
Our visitors did not always suspect the richness of our history. We wanted to make it visible, readable, shareable. Committed to cultural patronage, the Mutuelle has naturally chosen art as a vector of memory. This fresco is a manifesto: we clearly remind us where we come from and what we stand for.

Why now, after more than 40 years?
In a context where the values of solidarity and commitment are being put to the test, it is essential to assert our uniqueness. Our militant mutualist model is unique in Europe. This fresco recalls the legacy of the 40,000 founders and the importance of passing it on.

What message do you want to convey?
This work embodies our collective energy. She reminds us that the Mutuelle des Motards is a common good, passed down from generation to generation. The flame of solidarity only exists if we keep it alive, together.

Interview with Franck Blériot, painter and founder of Métamorphoze

What was your reaction to the order?
I saw a rare opportunity: to create not a decoration, but a meaningful visual manifesto.

What has marked you in the history of the Mutual?
His militant origins. It was born from a refusal and a collective leap forward. It is a story of dignity, organization and fidelity to the founding values.

How did you work?
I listened, met, absorbed. Then I mixed silhouettes, faces, mechanical parts and keywords in a narrative composition. More than 2,500 hours of work, 600 parts assembled, 25 people mobilized: a truly collective creation.

Metamorphoze: a major mural workshop

The Métamorphoze workshop has established itself as one of the pioneers of contemporary monumental muralism, with creations all over the world. For Franck Blériot, each work must reveal the soul of a place, otherwise it remains decorative.

The Mutuelle des Motards in brief

Created in 1983 from the gathering of 40,000 mobilized bikers, the Mutuelle des Motards is the first insurance company specializing in 2-wheelers.
As an independent company with no shareholders, it places solidarity at the heart of its model.

In Occitania, where its headquarters are located, it is a committed economic and cultural player.
His vision of insurance is based as much on prevention as on protection.
