Wall signage with design décor for the offices of the In Extenso head office

Chosen by the famous Téléportation agency in Lyon for the metamorphosis of the In Extenso head office, our workshop deployed a concept of personalized, historical, geographical and corporate signage, with its design window stickers to build a graphic identity to the spaces and contribute to the magnificent wall decorations.

A challenge in the stairwell was set up by graphically dressing the walls. The objective: to encourage all employé.es to use them and burn calories. We confirm… 30 floors a day, that’s what it holds!

Another challenge taken up and successful!

In today’s business world, corporate interior design is no longer just about functionality. Companies are now looking to transform their premises into real living spaces, where brand identity and employee well-being are harmoniously combined. One of the most effective ways to achieve this balance is the installation of custom, design, and artistic wall signage. Whether in the entrance hall, offices, open spaces, relaxation areas, the company restaurant or even in the stairwells, these elements provide much more than just a visual cue. In this article, we’ll explore the many benefits of this trend and how it can transform the workplace.

Creating a Memorable First Impression

The lobby is often the first point of contact between the company and its visitors, whether they are customers, partners or future employees. Artistic and custom wall signage in this space helps create a strong and memorable first impression. The use of bold graphics, neat typography and harmonious colours can reflect the company’s identity, values and culture instantly. For example, a mural depicting the company’s history or founding values can both inform and captivate visitors. This type of signage goes beyond the utilitarian framework to become a real visual communication medium, capable of telling a story and conveying a powerful message.

Facilitate Navigation and Orientation

Wall signage plays a vital role in wayfinding within the company’s premises. In large spaces such as open spaces or multi-storey buildings, it can be used to clearly indicate directions, designate meeting rooms or highlight relaxation areas and sanitary facilities. The use of stylized pictograms, directional arrows and specific color codes makes the environment more intuitive and welcoming. In stairwells, often perceived as secondary spaces, wall signage can energize the space while guiding employees and visitors. An artistic mural on the theme of movement, for example, can encourage the use of stairs while making the space more appealing. In this way, the signage contributes to both the overall aesthetics of the place and the ease of movement.

Strengthen Brand Identity

Custom wall signage is a great way to reinforce the company’s brand identity. By incorporating distinctive graphic elements, logos or slogans, they make it possible to visually inscribe the company’s DNA in every corner of its premises. This creates a visual and immersive consistency that not only impresses visitors but also motivates employees by connecting them to the company’s values and mission. In a coworking space or shared offices, wall signage also makes it possible to delimit the different spaces according to the companies, while respecting the overall aesthetics of the place. A cohesive and well-thought-out design helps to create an atmosphere where each company can express itself while integrating harmoniously into a shared environment.

Boost Creativity and Productivity

Design and art have a significant impact on mood and creativity. Artistic wall signage, whether abstract or figurative, can transform an ordinary office into an inspiring space. Bright colors, dynamic shapes, and bold patterns stimulate the mind and promote a more energetic and positive work atmosphere. In open spaces, for example, artistic wall panels can be used to visually delineate specific areas like informal meeting spaces or brainstorming areas. This not only helps to organize the space in a more functional way, but also creates distinct environments for different activities.

Humanizing and Personalizing Common Areas

Common areas such as company canteens or relaxation areas are places for employees to socialise and relax. Wall signage can play a fundamental role in humanizing these spaces. For example, humorous illustrations or inspirational quotes on the walls of the restaurant can help create a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, while also making the place feel warmer and more welcoming. In breakout areas, soft, calming wall signage can promote employee relaxation and well-being. By using natural materials, plant patterns or calming colours, it is possible to create a space where employees feel comfortable and can truly recharge their batteries.

An Effective Visual Communication Tool

Wall signage is not only decorative, it is also a powerful visual communication tool. It can be used to convey important information in an aesthetically pleasing and engaging way. For example, in stairwells or corridors, messages about health and safety, the company’s mission or even inspirational statistics can be integrated into the wall design. This allows key messages to be communicated without resorting to traditional and often less attractive displays. In addition, well-designed signage can encourage certain positive behaviours, such as adopting eco-friendly practices or following company rules. By making these messages visually pleasing and integrated into the overall design, they are more likely to be noticed and remembered.

The Versatility of the Wall Mount

The walls offer an infinite surface of expression. Unlike traditional decorative objects that take up space, wall signage uses vertical surfaces that are often underutilized. This frees up floor space while still offering a lot of creative freedom. Whether it’s through paint, relief panels, vinyl or even light installations, the possibilities are endless. In addition, the wall signage is easily editable. Companies can adapt their walls according to the seasons, events or changes in the company. This flexibility keeps the work environment dynamic and constantly evolving.

Conclusion

Personalized, design, and artistic wall signage is much more than just a way to guide or inform. They have become a real interior design tool, capable of transforming a workspace into an inspiring, functional and welcoming place. In addition to strengthening brand identity and improving navigation, they help create a stimulating environment where employees feel valued and motivated. Adopting this approach in the different areas of the company, from the lobby to the stairwells, means investing in a work environment that reflects the company’s values and promotes the well-being of its occupants. Well-thought-out wall signage is therefore a sustainable investment in the quality of life at work and the company’s image.
